2008 True Local Business Awards

August 2008 Recent Successes

For the second year, Brewer Swimming has been named as a finalist in the True Local Business Awards and wishes to thank all families for their support in the voting process.

Willoughby swimmers once again achieved fantastic results at the recent State Age Championships with many finishing in the top 20 and all relays finishing in the top 12 teams. Chris Dwyer bagged 2 gold and 2 bronze medals while Emma Morgan won 3 bronze medals. Full details can be see in the August Willoughby Swimming Club newsletter

May 2008 Recent Successes

During the past summer season Luane Rowe (18) won Bronze in 1500m at the Olympic Trials, and three National Age medals in Brisbane in March. Willoughbys 14/under Freestyle relay placed 8th, Dylan Curtis (17) and Sam McConnell (18) both placed10th in the 17-18 Sprint Freestyle events, with Max Collins (15) 5th in the 15yrs 10km, having won gold in NSW in January. Emma Morgan (12) qualified for Pacific School Games in 50m, 100m and 200m Freestyle, as well as being named in the NSW State 12/Under Individual Medley Squad.
Chris Dwyer (11) broke two NSW records in winning 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly at the NSW PSSA Championships. Such results reflect the strong encouragement and support Brewer Swimming provides for the competitive swimmers through our Willoughby Swim Club program, where a wealth of talent is continually nurtured for the future.
