Brewer Swimming has nurtured swimmers on Sydney’s North Shore since 1984, launching Willoughby Swim Club in 1990, and currently provides first class swimming lessons and squads at St Ignatius College Riverview and Riverside Corporate Park. Squad training is also available at the Willoughby Leisure Centre.

Proprietors Graeme and Narelle Brewer have a wealth of experience to offer. Graeme is an Olympic and Commonwealth Games swimming medalist and Narelle has 10 years experience as an Early Childhood Director prior to managing the swim school in 1990.
Rudy Burattini (assistant coach) and Lee Talbot (Learn to Swim Coordinator) are valuable team members, leading our Austswim and Swim Australia qualified and enthusiastic teachers.

Brewer Swimming specializes in Learn to Swim, offering a personalized service and quality teaching unmatched in this area. Our development Squad Program offers carefully graded classes in stroke perfection, and introduces swimmers to more challenging activities including racing up to the highest levels.

Willoughby Swim Club provides our swimmers with competitive experience all the way to Open National standard. We recently achieved Platinum Status, one of only six Australia wide clubs to earn this award through Swimming Australia’s GO CLUB initiative. Willoughby placed top ten in NSW for combined State competitions in 2010-11. Willoughby swimmers won two silver and two bronze medals at NSW Short Course Championships. Six of our swimmers competed in the National Schools Championships in Melbourne in July winning four gold, six silver and four bronze medals. One of Willoughby’s swimmers, Luane Rowe completed a tandem crossing of the English Channel on August 12th teaming with good friend Shelley Clark to achieve this memorable swimming milestone.

We regularly travel as a team to meets in Canberra and interstate for competitive opportunities. Our annual training trip to Noosa is planned for September 24th to October 1st, when more than 40 swimmers will spend a week in intense training preparing for the 2012 summer competitions which culminate in the London Olympic trials in Adelaide from March 15th to March 22nd and National Age Championships from April 9th to April 14th in Brisbane.

Brewer Swimming encourages all swimmers to pursue their sport towards individual goals which range from water competence, health and fitness, still water competition, multi sports and triathlon, surf-lifesaving, open water and ocean swimming.
